Peugeot 3008 Servicing St Helens: The Short Version
Peugeot 3008 servicing at Fastlane covers everything from a quick interim oil-and-filter to a full or major service done to the exact schedule Peugeot sets for your engine and year. We service every generation, the original 3008, the second-generation SUV and the current model, across petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid, and we set the work up around what that specific engine genuinely needs rather than a one-size-fits-all checklist.
Interim Service. Oil to the correct Peugeot specification, a new oil filter and a safety inspection of brakes, tyres, steering and lights. Ideal every six months or 6,000 miles if you cover big miles.
Full Service. Everything in the interim plus air and fuel filters, a deeper inspection and, on diesels, a proper look at the DPF, EGR and AdBlue system. Usually annual or around 12,000 miles.
Major Service. The full service plus longer-interval items like the cabin filter, spark plugs on petrols and fluid changes, keeping an older or higher-mileage 3008 healthy.
Everything here is done on Boundary Road in St Helens, with the findings and the price given to you before any work starts. Ring 01744 808586 or read more about Peugeot DPF Repair St Helens.

Belt-in-oil, and why the schedule really matters. The popular 1.2 PureTech petrol in the 3008 uses a "wet" cambelt, a timing belt that runs inside the engine and is bathed in oil, rather than a dry belt or a chain. It's an efficient design, but the belt material can break down over time, and as it deteriorates tiny fragments can shed into the oil, block the pump pick-up and, in the worst cases, starve the engine of oil.
That's why replacing the wet belt to Peugeot's schedule, and using the correct low-ash oil changed on time, is not optional on this engine.
When we service a PureTech 3008 we check the condition of the oil and look for the early signs of belt breakdown, and we'll be straight with you about where you stand on the belt interval. If it's due, we replace the wet belt kit properly, we do not stretch the interval or ignore it, because on this engine that's exactly how expensive failures start.

Worth knowing
Peugeot 3008 BlueHDi & EAT Gearbox Care
⚠ DPF, EGR and AdBlue done the legal, proper way. The 1.5 and 2.0 BlueHDi diesels are strong engines, but on lots of short, stop-start journeys the diesel particulate filter (DPF) can't get hot enough to regenerate and starts to clog. We deal with that the right way, checking the system, carrying out a forced regeneration where suitable, or cleaning or replacing the DPF if it's beyond a regen. We do the same with a fouled or sticking EGR valve, we clean or replace it.
To be completely clear: we never delete, remove or blank a DPF or EGR, that's illegal for road cars and an automatic MOT failure. Proper repair only, so your 3008 stays legal and drives as it should.
These diesels also use AdBlue, injected into the exhaust to cut emissions. If you get an AdBlue warning or a mileage countdown, it's usually a sensor, injector or SCR fault, or simply a low tank. We diagnose it properly and put the system right, we never delete or bypass AdBlue, because that's illegal and fails the MOT.
Auto gearbox: if your 3008 has the EAT6 or EAT8 automatic, its fluid needs changing periodically to stay smooth and reliable. An EAT gearbox oil service is straightforward, legitimate maintenance and one of the best things you can do for a long automatic life, and it's a job many owners never realise is due.

Peugeot 3008 MOT & Hybrid Servicing
MOT, and yes we service the Hybrid. Your 3008 needs an annual MOT once it's three years old. Book it with your service and we'll do both in one visit, putting right anything the service uncovers before it can turn into an MOT advisory or fail. You can read the official rules on the gov.uk MOT guide.
We also service the 3008 Hybrid and Hybrid4 plug-in models, the routine servicing, brakes, MOT and the petrol engine's own maintenance are all handled here. Where any work involves the high-voltage battery pack itself, that goes to a Peugeot high-voltage specialist, we won't pretend otherwise, but for everyday servicing and MOT your PHEV 3008 is in safe hands with us.

FAQs
Peugeot 3008 Servicing St Helens: Common Questions
The questions Peugeot 3008 owners ask us most, answered properly rather than in one line.
As a general guide, a full service every year or around 12,000 miles, with an interim service every six months or 6,000 miles if you cover higher mileage. Your Peugeot's own schedule and service indicator are the definitive guide, and it varies a little between the petrol, diesel and hybrid versions.
Tell us your 3008's year, engine and mileage and we'll tell you exactly what's due and when.
Yes. The 1.2 PureTech petrol uses a "wet" timing belt that runs in oil rather than a chain or a dry belt. The belt can degrade over time and shed material into the oil, which is why replacing it to Peugeot's schedule and keeping the oil changed with the correct low-ash spec is so important on this engine.
If you don't know your belt's history, we'll check the oil condition and advise. Replacing it on time is far cheaper than dealing with a failure.
Yes. A DPF light on a BlueHDi 3008 usually means the filter is clogging, often from lots of short journeys. We diagnose it, carry out a forced regeneration where suitable, or clean or replace the DPF if it's beyond a regen. That keeps the car legal and driving properly.
We never remove or delete a DPF, that's illegal for road cars and an MOT failure. Proper repair is the only route we take.
An AdBlue warning or mileage countdown on a BlueHDi 3008 can be as simple as a low tank, or it can point to a sensor, injector or SCR system fault. We diagnose it properly and put the system right so the warning clears and the car stays emissions-legal.
We never delete or bypass the AdBlue system, that's illegal and fails the MOT. If it's just low, we can top it up and reset it; if it's a fault, we repair it.
If your 3008 has the EAT6 or EAT8 automatic gearbox, then yes, the fluid benefits from being changed periodically to keep shifts smooth and protect the gearbox. It's legitimate, worthwhile maintenance that many owners never realise is due, and it can make a real difference to how the box feels and lasts.
Tell us your year and engine and we'll advise whether an EAT gearbox oil service is due for your car.
It depends on the service level, your engine and the oil it takes, an interim is less than a full, and a major or a job like the wet belt is more again. As an independent we're typically noticeably cheaper than a Peugeot main dealer for the same schedule of work. We give a clear, upfront price before we start, with no surprises.
Tell us your 3008's year, engine and mileage and we'll quote you exactly. You can also spread it with Payment Assist.
No. Under the Block Exemption Regulation you can have your Peugeot 3008 serviced at an independent garage like ours without affecting the manufacturer's warranty, as long as it follows Peugeot's schedule and uses parts and oil of the correct, matching quality.
We service to exactly that standard, use the right specification oil and quality or OE parts, and update your service record every visit, so your history stays complete and your warranty stays valid, usually for less than a dealer charges.
Yes, and it's the smart way to do it. Booking your Peugeot 3008 service and MOT together saves a second trip, and it means anything flagged during the service can be put right before it turns into an MOT advisory or fail.
Just let us know you'd like both when you book and we'll arrange them in the same visit.
Yes. We handle the routine servicing, brakes, MOT and the petrol engine's own maintenance on the 3008 Hybrid and Hybrid4 plug-in models. For any work involving the high-voltage battery pack itself, we refer that to a Peugeot high-voltage specialist, but the everyday servicing and MOT are all done here.
So if your PHEV 3008 is due a service or MOT, we've got you covered, just let us know it's a hybrid when you book.
We're Fastlane Autocare at 232-254 Boundary Road, St Helens, WA10 2PZ, an AA and RAC approved independent garage and Motor Ombudsman members. We service all makes and models, so yes, as well as the 3008 we look after the whole Peugeot range, including the Peugeot 208.
Give us a call, message us on WhatsApp or book online and we'll get your Peugeot sorted.
An interim service is the lighter six-monthly option covering oil, oil filter and a safety inspection; a full service adds the air, fuel and pollen filters and a much longer checklist.
If you cover a lot of miles, interim services in between keep the oil fresh without waiting a full year. If you do modest mileage, a full service once a year is usually the right call on its own. Not sure which you need? Ring 01744 808586 with your mileage and how you use the car and we will tell you straight, or see Peugeot 208 Servicing St Helens.
The price comes down to your engine, whether you need an interim or a full service, and how much oil the engine takes and to what specification.
Some engines take four litres of a common grade and others take seven of a long-life synthetic, which is where most of the difference sits. Whatever the total, it will be noticeably less than a main dealer for the same schedule and the same parts quality. Ring 01744 808586 with your registration for a firm quote, or ask about Payment Assist.
No. Under Block Exemption rules you can have a Peugeot 3008 serviced anywhere, as long as the work follows the manufacturer schedule and uses correct-specification parts.
We service to exactly that standard, use the right oil and quality filters, and stamp and record everything so your history stays intact for resale or a warranty claim. Ring 01744 808586 if you would like us to check what your particular car and year needs, or book Peugeot 208 Servicing St Helens.
We fit genuine or matching original-equipment parts and the exact oil specification your engine calls for, and we tell you which before you agree to anything.
Oil specification matters more than people expect on a modern engine: the wrong grade affects the timing drive, the turbo and the DPF regeneration. On some parts there is a good alternative that saves money, and on others there is not. We will say which is which. Ring 01744 808586 or read more about Peugeot 208 Servicing St Helens.
