MOT from £40 — and here is what “from” actually means
We quote MOT from £40, and since every garage in the country uses the word “from”, it is worth saying exactly what ours covers. £40 is the price of a class 4 MOT on an ordinary car, on its own, with no conditions attached — you do not have to buy a service to get it. Larger vehicles are priced differently, and class 7 vans over 3,000kg are a test we do not carry out. If the car fails, the repair is quoted separately and agreed before anything is done. What you will not find here is a headline figure that only applies to a tyre size nobody fits, or a cheap test that quietly depends on booking something else alongside it.

A tyre bought purely on price will usually stop you in a longer distance on a wet road and wear out sooner, so the saving shrinks every year you own the car. Why some of it says “on your reg”
A service on a 1.0 petrol hatchback and a 3.0 diesel estate are not the same job, and pretending otherwise is how people end up with a bill bigger than the quote. Yes. If something sounds wrong we will put the car on the ramp and look at the whole system — mountings, joints, the box and the cat — before quoting anything, because a blow at a joint is a very different bill from a failed catalytic converter.
