Still not found what you are after?
Ring the workshop on 01744 808586 and ask. You get a technician, not a script.

Most of the questions people ring with are answered faster on the phone than by reading, because the answer usually depends on your car. Send the registration on WhatsApp if it is easier and we will come back to you.
Detailed answers by subject: MOT testing, servicing, diagnostics, warning lights and everything we do.
Getting started with Fastlane Autocare
It depends on the job. MOTs and most repair work need booking in advance so we can plan the day properly. Air con re-gassing, diagnostics, and tyre fitting are genuinely walk-in friendly, with same-day service in most cases.
Cash, card, and bank transfer are all accepted, and we also offer Payment Assist if you'd rather spread the cost of a larger job.
Yes, a courtesy car is available, but it needs to be booked in advance and is subject to availability — genuinely worth asking when you book your appointment.
Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm, and Saturday 9:00am to 12:30pm.
232-254 Boundary Road, St Helens, WA10 2PZ, with free parking on-site. See Get Directions for the full route.
Keeping your car legal and running properly
Yes, both are available, tailored to your car's mileage and service history. See our full Car Servicing page for what's included in each.
You'll get a VT30 certificate listing what failed. If it's repaired and retested with us within 10 working days, the retest covering just the failed items is often free. See our full Failed MOT Repairs page.
Yes, genuinely — lights, tyres, screenwash and brake condition are all MOT-tested items that regular checks catch early. See our Vehicle Maintenance Tips.

Every major brand, in-garage or mobile
Yes, tyre fitting is genuinely walk-in friendly with same-day fitting in most cases. See our full Tyres St Helens hub.
Yes, genuine Mobile Tyre Fitting is available at your home or workplace.
Every major brand, from budget to premium, with honest advice on which genuinely suits your car.
Genuine fault-finding, not a guessed part swap
Yes, diagnostics is a genuine walk-in service. See our Car Won't Start page.
It depends on the colour and whether it's flashing. See our full Dashboard Warning Lights guide, or our Engine Warning Light page.
Not necessarily — it could be a sensor fault rather than a genuinely blocked filter. See our DPF Advice page.
When getting to us isn't the easy option
Yes — genuine battery, brake, servicing and pre-purchase inspection work at your location. See Mobile Mechanic St Helens.
Our own Vehicle Recovery service can collect it and bring it to our garage.
Before you hand over any money
Genuinely, yes — a proper diagnostic scan catches faults a visual check and test drive simply can't. See our Pre-Purchase Inspection page.
Always, and you are free to say no. You get the item, what is wrong with it and the figure before anything is done, and nothing is added at the counter afterwards. Where a job needs investigating first, we tell you what that costs too.
Payment Assist spreads work over three, four or six monthly payments at 0% interest. It is a soft search only, with no hard credit check on bills up to £1,000. See our Payment Assist page.
A normal and sensible thing to ask. We separate what must be done now from what can safely wait, and tell you which is which rather than handing over one list. You choose what goes ahead and the rest is noted for next time.
Every make we service and repair
From mainstream family cars to prestige, performance and electric vehicles.
Almost certainly. We service and repair every mainstream make and most premium and specialist ones, using manufacturer-level diagnostic tooling rather than a generic code reader. Send the registration and we will confirm before you book.
No. Block Exemption rules let an independent garage service a car under warranty provided the work follows the manufacturer schedule and uses correct-specification parts and oils. Your book gets stamped or the digital record updated — keep the invoices.
Yes, with IMI Level 4 qualified EV technicians on site, which is the level required to work safely on high-voltage systems. EVs still need tyres, brakes, suspension and an MOT. See our EV and hybrid page.
St Helens, Merseyside and the North West
St Helens and the surrounding towns — Rainhill, Prescot, Haydock, Newton-le-Willows, Eccleston, Thatto Heath, Sutton and Billinge — plus Merseyside and Warrington. The workshop is on Boundary Road, WA10 2PZ, and most customers reach us in under twenty minutes.
It depends on the job, and we will tell you honestly. For a routine MOT it rarely makes sense to drive past three garages. For diagnostics, EV work or a fault another garage has not solved, people do travel. Ring and describe it on 01744 808586.
